Fujifilm updates X-Pro1 and X-E1 to improve AF with 55-200mm lens

Fujifilm has updated the firmware for its X-Pro1 and X-E1 mirrorless cameras, to improve the autofocus speed with the recently-launched XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS telephoto zoom lens. Versions 1.05 for the X-E1 and 2.04 for the X-Pro1 are available to download from the Fujifilm website. Click below for the links to download the firmware.

Great Fuji! I knew what I bought in the first place so I am totally happy with it as it is. In this small package, which I can carry with me all the time, I can create stunning photos with great IQ.

Just tried the XE-1 with new 1.05 firmware. Autofocus certainly no faster with the 35mm 1.4 as claimed 🙁

A lot of people were hoping it would be focus peaking, but its not, and so the suspicions are confirmed that the processor cannot handle it. Glad I got rid of my XE1!

Hoping for a real update, not a “here’s-something-to-make-our-new-lens-work.”

Good on Fujifilm.. Again.

It would be nice to get my hands on the lens but it is still not available here in Japan where I live.

DPReview, you announcement preceded the announcement email I just got from Fujifilm regarding this update by about 45 minutes.. You guys are fast!
