Sponsored: Win a photography trip of a lifetime with CBRE Urban Photography competition

Now in its 9th year, the CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year challenges photographers to capture what urban life means to them through the theme ‘Cities at Work’.

The competition is free, encouraging both professional and amateur photographers to enter up to 24 images, each representing an hour of the day. The competition has a unique structure, with one main prize, 3 regional prizes and over 25 other prizes to be won through various categories, including a young person’s category.

Amercias Winner – Johanna Siegmann – Buffer Zone

The total prize fund is worth over £50,000 and includes a Canon camera worth £1500, a top of the range iPad and much more. Find out more about the prizes here. The overall winner will be crowned the CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year, and will win a photography trip of a lifetime.

Past winners have visited Turkey, Morocco, Bhutan and Namibia, after capturing ‘Cities at Work’ across the globe. Winning images can be found here.

1st Place – Marius Veith – Mask of Society

The images from the competition allow CBRE, the world’s largest property company, to cast a light on the beauty and sophistication of the built environment; whether it’s a bustling market place or vast cityscape, the entries to the competition tell such fascinating stories about how the world around us is changing.

Over the last nine years changes in the photography industry have shaped the competition, with the rise of social media and advances in mobile technology playing a huge role. New to 2015 is a ‘mobile’ category, encouraging budding on-the-go photographers to upload photos taken on their mobile devices.

EMEA Winner – Carlos da Costa Branco – Dancing in the Street

Competition closes 31st July, enter now at www.cbreupoty.com

For every entry in the Urban Photographer of the Year competition, CBRE will make a donation to leading children’s development charity, Plan International.
