UK Landscape Photographer of the Year winners announced

Go see it larger, it looks less ‘painterly’ (whatever the hell that means).

It’s an image you have to let your eyes rest on for a while. It’s not the typical “wow, look at that!” image which get high views on social network sites. Look at it deeply, consider the contours, the crevices, the shades in the rock, the way vegetation tries to cling on to the windblasted slopes. It’s a beautiful representation of Glen Coe, a perfect summary of the feeling of being there.

Only a confident, accomplished photographer would have chosen to highlight that.
