Want to remember something? Don’t take a photo

I’m the kind of person who forgets what they went upstairs to get, etc… Alzheimer’s? possibly, but I have been like this for most of my life. My contact sheets used to prompt a precise recall of events and have been used in court as evidence, but then, younger, I could also give a precise recall of events without them, and sober, still am able to now. But I have a very precise, accurate recall of human interaction my kids hate me for, because these things are important. We dont take pics only to remember. We take pics to be able to gaze a long time, as in a gallery, at something we cannot focus our attention upon so completely in “the real world”. We can look at it close up, for as long as we like, such that a visual part of the event in all its complexity can be enjoyed in a way it could not be then, because we were a part of it. Who took it, with what matters not, because it is NOT the memory we have anyway. Most views and events are unimportant to us and so we forget them
